MAZATLAN.- To increase tourism in the destination and for people with high purchasing power to come, quality hotels, good infrastructure and first-world services are required, as suggested by the hotel entrepreneur, Ernesto Coppel Kelly.
He mentioned that this request has been repeated countless times, since the port is already at a competitive level that requires high-ranking tourism, instead of continuing with the same old or low-quality hotels.
“Please, for pity, build quality, we are already fed up with mediocrity, cheap hotels, we want great hotels, people with great purchasing power, a hotel that charges a thousand dollars a night, that people come delighted,” he declared.
Although, he said, the occupations are good and Mazatlan has a good influx every weekend, it has to go further, that people spend thousands of pesos in restaurants and attractions, only then will Mazatlan be able to be in the world eye.
“Right now people don’t come because they have nowhere to go, the Emerald is the best and I charge little, I need something better, that’s what I suggest to Mazatlan, to the businessmen who are building hotels or are going to build them, please.” , no longer build third-class hotels, build first-class ones,” he said.

With the progress made in the construction of the new Aquarium of the Sea of Cortez, Coppel Kelly said that once it is inaugurated, Mazatlan is going to be “reduced” and with this, it has to force the tourism sector to improve and grow, how? With more hotels and more restaurants, insisting on quality.
He added that once the Aquarium is finished, he will analyze the theme of the Mazatlán Museum, the one that at the beginning of the Central Park project, was seen in the renderings, in the form of a shell and that would tell the story of the destination.
“We hope that with this opening in September, Mazatlan explodes with success, more than it already has right now,” he said.
A Beautiful Town Historic Center is coming
Among the plans that the businessman has for quality construction, Ernesto Coppel Kelly, announced that in May the construction of the Pueblo Bonito Centro Histórico hotel will begin, a place that he promised will be an icon within this old Mazatlan, respecting the architecture that characterizes its streets.
In addition, in front of this hotel, it will build condominiums, with a pool and a restaurant to connect them together with a bridge in the style of the arch that Antigua Guatemala has, so that both guests can enjoy the services.
The Mazatlan hotelier estimates that the opening of both complexes will be by the end of 2023.
