Kike Mondragón makes his musical debut with “You drew me”

The singer and songwriter Kike Mondragon originally from Mexico City, describes himself as a romantic, rebellious and talented person, an artist full of inspiration and lyrics to share.

“In August 2021 I said to myself: ‘it’s time’. I grabbed my paper and pen and composed 13 songs in two weeks. I had never composed so much in such a short time and it fills me with joy that I can finally start sharing my music”, commented Kike Mondragon.

Now the young singer-songwriter debut with his first single on a professional way. Is about “you drew me”, of his authorship under the production of Little Jets in the 3kmkz studio. The song talks about a person who falls in love easily and gets hurt; a very common message in youth interpreted with style and a very happy mood.

“You drew me” is the first advance from his debut EP which will be revealing all its content little by little, during this year.

Who is Kike Mondragon?

His career is just beginning, but his goal is clear: to become one of the best Mexican musical exponents composing their own songs. He is the youngest of his brothers and grew up listening to pop and trova; he fell in love with the second one, the songs of Silvio Rodríguez, Fernando Delgadillo, Alejandro Filio, Edgar Oceransky and even Pablo Milanés caught him thanks to his lyrics, to the sound of the guitar.

Restless, scattered and very daring. It was at the age of 15 that music became a goal, the first song he composed was for a friend of her sister’s that she never paid attention to, but she gave him the reason to compose.

It would take years for his father to agree with Kike to boost his career, although he already had it clear. He did not want to be a frustrated musician, he had already tried the business path, studied some marketing and is now about to finish a degree in communication sciences.

After his first band, GBA, formed with high school friends, he went solo.. He invested money in a production that did not bear fruit, but the right time would come for him. He participated in a songwriting camp just in 2021 and from there came the flame to promote his release.

After “You Draw Me”, he will tentatively be releasing “Waves of Alcohol”. Her EP will be made up of seven songs in total.
