Mexicans will not go on vacation due to lack of money

Almost six out of 10 Mexicans will not leave holidays during the Holy Week 2022, revealed a survey published by the research and communication consultancy Impact Group.

reported 57% of the population pointed out that will not make any trip in said holiday period; 19% said “it will be out for a few days” or a weekend at most and 14%it will take all week”.

While 10% of Mexicans indicated they still do not know what they will do during the holidays of Major week; that began this April 10 and that end on the 17th of the same month.

The data listed imply that barely three out of every 10 Mexicans (33%) will have the fortune to vacation; against six others who will stay at home (57%) and one more (10%) who is not sure if he will be able to leave or not.

The survey, carried out by Grupo Impacto, revealed that a lack of money was crowned as the main reason why Mexicans do not go on vacation during this Holy Week.

  • Don’t know: 11%

Optimism reigns among businessmen and merchants

The Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco Servytur) reported that:

  • 140 billion pesos will reach the economic spill during Easter 2022.
  • 428% revenue growth for trade and tourism companies, compared to what was registered in the holidays last year.
  • 75% reach occupancy average in tourist destinations in the country.
