If I don’t have insurance, can I be seen at IMSS-Wellness? This is how the new health system will work

Mexico.- The IMSS-Wellness program will be launched in different states of the country after the presidential decree for its creation was made official, here we tell you everything you need to know about this modality and if you can still receive medical care and when you don’t have Social Security.

IMSS-Wellness provides free health services to the population without social security, which seeks to provide primary health care, which links two components: medical care and community action.

Medical care is focused on providing comprehensive health services from both a physical and mental point of view. The program seeks to serve by putting prevention, promotion and health education first.

The official page of the program details that it is intended to provide the different levels of care in the Integrated Health Services Networks (RISS), in order to provide a solution to the health of patients among the institutions that have contracts with the IMSS-Wellness .

If I don’t have insurance, can I be seen at IMSS-Wellness?

The answer is yes, the program implemented by President Andrés Manuel López Orador is part of the strategy to improve health services in the country, and achieve comprehensive care for the population.

The president himself assured that by next year, Mexico would have a first-world health service, once the program has been implemented in that country, which seeks to equip hospitals , create clinics in remote regions, as well as the hiring doctors and specialists to cover one hundred percent of the vacancies.
