100,000 people in Mexico are listed as missing. Most of those disappearances date back to around 2006, when Mexico’s government declared a war on drugs. People whose sons, husbands or friends have disappeared say they get little help from the authorities. Often, they’re left with the difficult task of searching for their lost loved ones on their own.
