*Mazatlán recovered despite the pandemic
*Cruises with more capacity are expected
While Rosario Torres, state secretary of Tourism, pointed out that cruise ships with greater capacity to transport tourists are arriving, the now director of Special Projects of the aforementioned secretary, Jorge González, confirmed these data and said that larger cruise ships arrive depending on the demand of sea voyages.
The official said that the Mexican Pacific coast with Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, has recovered very well after the pandemic and that by the end of the year and next summer it is estimated to return to “the best moments of 2018” in that more than 525 thousand cruise passengers arrived each year. This year, and speaking of September, we have already had some 200,000 tourists who have arrived through this route.
He recalled that the cruise season is from October to May. He reiterated that the Pacific route has recovered very well and we are already at 50 percent of what was achieved in the year in which more cruise passengers arrived.
