MAZATLÁN._ The director of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlán, José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, asked the Cabildo for an extension of about 42 million pesos to be able to close this year, but it will be next week when the councilors determine if they authorize it or not and how much, said councilor Reynaldo González Meza.

The mayor for the Sinaloense Party added that on Wednesday afternoon Tostado Quevedo gave an explanation at a meeting in the Cabildo Room about why he is requesting this budget expansion, which has already been approved for nearly 160 million pesos for this year, but it’s over.

“Everyone knows that he does not have payroll, he does not really have anything, but it did not come to anything, all the councilors agreed to meet next week, the pure councilors, nothing else with the Trustee Attorney to see the issue, he already explained what he had to explain, he has already given the requests on what he occupies the money, why he occupies the money and how much he wants, he is asking for around 42 million pesos more or less, but nothing has been resolved yet, “he continued. the councilor in interview.

“There is still no date on which we are going to meet, we will meet between next week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, but we will only be the councilors and the Trustee and there the subject will be discussed, there it will come to a conclusion in what way the Institute of Culture could be helped, and more than the Institute are the workers because they are the least guilty of the situation that Culture is experiencing because they are not responsible, they do not manage the finances, who manages the finances is the director of Culture and they do not have to pay just for sinners this issue “.

He reiterated that next week there will be an answer on whether or not the expansion of the Culture budget is approved.

“Ask (expansion of the budget) for payroll, Christmas bonuses, for what the suppliers are and for the operating expense, that the operating expense is the minimum, it is like a million and ‘chub’, the heaviest thing is that of the suppliers” , he continued.

He also stated that it was in the Council of Culture that the head of that unit reported on what he spent what was approved for his budget for 2022, but he has not told the councilors who do not belong to said Council what those resources were spent on.

To those who have given more explanations is the Council of Culture in which said Regidor unfortunately does not belong.

In relation to the trip that the Government of Mazatlán will make to Madrid, Spain, to promote this port, he said that he understands that the amount of the same, of about 3.5 million pesos, will be from the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Fishing, but personnel from the Institute of Culture will go.

If the budget expansion is approved, it will be seen if the nearly 42 million pesos that are requested are authorized or not.

“It owes suppliers about 22 million pesos, which is the strongest,” González Meza reiterated.
