The death of both PRD members was confirmed by the state president of the PRD, Alberto Catalán Bastida, minutes before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Elements of the Mexican Army belonging to the 41st Infantry Battalion arrived at the scene with 12 troop units, and verified that The bodies of 18 murdered people were found at the scene. by firearm, of which 10 were identified.

State government authorities who traveled to the scene of the events had complications to enter because unknown persons installed a blockade on the highway Iguala-Ciudad Altamirano at the height of the community of Poliutla, belonging to the municipality of San Miguel Totolapan.
