“I’m a workaholic. I don’t like people telling me they don’t work on weekends. If they don’t, they can leave,” the player said in an interview in 2021.

Jankto currently plays for Sparta Prague, on loan from Getafe , and announced that he was homosexual in an emotional video posted on social networks last Monday.

“I’m gay and I don’t want to hide anymore,” he declared in English. ” Like everyone else, I also want to live my life in freedom, without fear, without prejudice, without violence, but with love ,” she added.

This announcement comes two years after his separation from his old girlfriend with whom he has a three-year-old son, David.

Jankto was born on January 19, 1996, and trained at Slavia Prague but never had a chance to showcase his talents with the team.

repositioned in defense

At the age of 18 he went to Italy to play for Udinese in Serie A , but was promptly loaned out to Ascoli, a second division team, for a year.

“I was used to getting help from my parents and all of a sudden I was on my own,” Jankto explained of that time. “It was a bit of a shock, the first two months were really difficult.”

Back at Udinese , he scored his first Serie A goal in a 2–1 loss against Juventus in October 2016.

“I will never forget it, it was my first goal in the first division, also in Serie A, in a packed Juventus stadium and against (Gianluigi) Buffon on top of that ,” Jankto recalled.

Between 2018 and 2021 he continued at Sampdoria , where he arrived, transferred for about 15 million euros (about 16 million dollars).

In total, Jankto scored 17 goals in 155 Serie A games before joining Getafe in the summer of 2021.

The player , who was glad to join a “family club”, only made 13 appearances for the Madrid side, who dodged relegation last season when Jankto, dealing with injuries, was placed on the left side of defense , to his disgust.

The virtual reality business

In one of the rare interviews he gave to a newspaper, Jankton explained that his favorite hobby was work, mainly in the field of video games.

He founded the Sampi e-sports team , which participates in Counter Strike, Fifa and League of Legends games competitions , and built a training center near Prague for its players.

He also invested in the Live Penalty project , a mobile game in which players shoot penalties against real goalkeepers.

“I see the greatest potential in connecting VR to the real world. I’ve loved this since I was 10 years old,” Jankto says of Live Penalty.

“It’s a Czech app that allows you to face famous players and clubs. And score against, for example, Buffon.”
