Horacio Lora Olivas, Deputy Director of Basic Education at Sinaloa resigned after the dismissal of a group of high-level officials from his area for acts of corruption was made public.
Lora Olivas would have resigned on March 1, after the Government of Sinaloa make public the management of a network of corruption within the Ministry of Public Education and Culture of Sinaloa.
In total, five state officials were fired from the Ministry of Public Education and Culture of Sinaloa for benefiting from their positions with jobs and working hours, the agency reported in a statement.
The dismissed officials are Graciela Grijalva Castro, Director of State Primary Education; Delia Esmeralda López Altamirano, Director of the State Preschool Education Department; Jesús Iván Tirado Páez, Administrative Officer of the State Preschool; Jesús Alfonso Durán López, Deputy Director of Personnel; and Carlos Alberto Lizárraga García, Head of the Department of the Educational branch of the Human Resources Department of the Undersecretary of Administration and Finance.
“As of last Tuesday, February 14, 2023, they are no longer in the exercise of their functions. The SEPyC carries out reviews of the work carried out during the 2022 financial year”, can be read in the statement from the state agency.
Governor Rubén Rocha Moya maintained that the situation was investigated by the agency itself.
“And I am still in the process, those who had to leave have not yet left, they are acts of corruption of colleagues. We are going to act on everyone for everything and now in the week they will have news because I already want to conclude this issue, ”she said.
According to what was announced by the Government of Sinaloa the dismissed officials benefited from jobs and working hours using their position in the administration of the SEPyC.
