‘Lack of love and apapachos’, AMLO resumes debate on fighting fentanyl addiction in the US and México

In 2022, a report by the National Intelligence Center (CIN) identified three mexican companies that supply chemicals for the production of fentanyl to the Cartel of Sinaloa and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

According to data from the Secretariat for Citizen Security and Protection (SSPC), six of the 32 states in the country accounted for 48.6 percent of the homicides, being the most violent Guanajuato scene of 3 thousand 260 crimes in 2022.

He said that, assuming that the fentanyl from China to enter the United States, another drug could emerge and the search to eradicate consumption would be the real priority.

“There is loneliness, sadness, lack of integration of families,” he said. “Lack of love and apapachos”. He affirmed that the funds should be used to address the causes and fight the bands who distribute the drug in United States, as well as control the arms sales.
