The Day of the Accountant is celebrated in Mazatlán – El Sol de Mazatlán

The College of Professional Public Accountants of South Sinaloa celebrated the Day of the Accountant with a breakfast and a conference.

In the presence of 120 accountants, the labor lawyer José Ángel Cortés Sandoval gave the conference “Workers’ participation in company profits and Labor Reforms”.

He recognized that these labor reforms are a tremendous change due to the importance and transcendence that this can mean.

He stressed that accountants are an important part of what has to do with the good results and success they may have in various conflicts and lawsuits.

“You are a key piece for your clients, those who are employers or natural or legal persons for me are an important part as accountants in the good outcome of the trial”said.

In México, the Day of the Accountant is celebrated on May 25 of each year. It is a date dedicated to recognizing and valuing the work of public accountants and accounting professionals in the country.

During this day, different events, conferences and activities related to accounting and the accounting profession usually take place.

It was May 25, 1907 when Mr. Fernando Diez Barroso took the first professional exam with which he graduated as a Trade Accountant.

On December 20, 1925, the Ministry of Public Education revalidated the degree obtained by Don Fernando by granting him the first title of Public Accountant.

In addition to being the first graduate, Don Fernando dedicated himself to studying, researching, and projecting the accounting profession in México.

He is also credited with having been the founder and first president of the Institute of Accountants, today the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants.
