Mazatlán.- In an evening full of art, music and solidarity, dozens of people gathered at Casa Haas to participate in a three-course dinner accompanied by the harmonious music of Elías Estrada on the piano.
This event, organized by the Academia de Sueños Especiales Foundation, founded by Michael Dergar, and the Baupres Gallery, chaired by the plastic artist Dory Perdomo, aimed to raise funds for the acquisition of an elevator for the Ángela Peralta Theater in Mazatlán.
This device will allow easier access for people with disabilities to the upper levels of the cultural venue and to the Ángela Peralta Gallery.
The night was especially emotional, since not only was a high-quality gastronomic experience enjoyed and the musical talent of Elías Estrada, but there was also an auction of 25 works of art donated by renowned local artists, such as Eduardo Santamaría, Carlos Zeta, Lucila Santiago, Alejandro Mojica, Cecilia Sánchez Duarte, Gabriel Miranda, Patricia Carmona, Yunavi Barraza Luna, Isabel Cristina Rengifo, among others.
The money raised during the auction will be used entirely to purchase the elevator for the Ángela Peralta Theater, thus contributing to the creation of a more inclusive space for the community.
In favor of inclusion
Raúl Rico González, General Director of Culture, expressed his gratitude to Michael Dergar and Dory Perdomo for leading this initiative in favor of inclusion and support for people with different abilities. He highlighted that projects like these generate a spark of inspiration and community mobilization.
The official recognized the work of Michael Dergar, who, from Mazatlán to Los Angeles, has shown how will, interest and personal dedication can make a difference in society. The director highlighted the importance of projects that not only benefit the local community, but transcend borders and generate a global impact.
For his part, Michael Dergar reaffirmed his commitment to raising awareness about the importance of including the disabled community in society. He thanked everyone in attendance for his contribution and for joining the cause of making Mazatlán a more accessible place for everyone.
Dergar shared the pride of being Mazatlán and bringing resources from the United States to México through the Academia de Sueños Especiales Foundation. He recognized the sponsors, friends who flew specifically for the event, collaborating groups of more than ten years, artists who donated their works and all those who have supported the foundation.
The evening culminated with special recognition to outstanding people who, despite adversity, have shown that dreams and goals can be achieved in life. A night that not only left its mark on fundraising but also on the spirit of solidarity and commitment to inclusion in Mazatlán.
