Fishermen from northern beach assure that 2023 was a year of crisis, since in other years during these same dates mountain fishing rebounded by 100 percent, said the president of the Artisanal Fishermen cooperative, Edgar Moya.

He pointed out that they only catch 15 to 20 pieces of sawfish, likewise, he said that there is also a shortage of cochito and snapper, so he assured that he did not know why this big problem has arisen this year, which has affected the economic situation of many. fishermen.

“It is truly sad, we do not know the reasons why this entire fishing system is failing for us, we are really baffled in this type of situation,” he expressed.
