Armed men murdered Yair Martín Romero, candidate for federal representative for Morena in Ecatepec

According to some versions, the politician had reported threats and extortion attempts, as well as political pressure from leaders of the Union of Unions and National Organizations.

Yair Martín Romero Segura, candidate for a federal seat in the lower chamber for the Morena party, in Ecatepec, State of México, was murdered on the afternoon of February 10.

Romero Segura was attacked directly in the streets of the Santa Clara neighborhood, Ecatepec. Emergency elements arrived at the scene to help the victims, but they could do nothing, because Yair had already died; His brother was taken to a hospital, but his death was reported shortly after.

Yair Martín Romero Segura sought to be elected as a federal representative of Morena, for the XVI district of the municipality of Ecatepec and Tlalnepantla. It was reported that the deputy candidate was murdered with a firearm, while his brother, named Johan, was murdered with a knife.

The bodies of both men were left lying on the asphalt in the middle of the street in Ecatepec, State of México.
