México CITY (apro).- Google dedicated its doodle today, March 7, as a tribute to the Mexican artist Lola Beltrán, on the day of her birth.
Lucila Beltrán Ruiz was born in Rosario, Sinaloa, in 1932; She ventured into music – in which she is considered one of the greatest performers of the ranchero genre –, with songs like Paloma Negra, Cielito Lindo and Cucurrucucú Paloma, among others.
Lola Beltrán also had a career on the big screen during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, with iconic films such as Cucurrucucú Paloma and México de mi corazón.
The singer died on March 24, 1996, in México City at the age of 61.
The Lola Beltrán doodle is available in México, the United States, the United States Virgin Islands, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and the United Kingdom.
