The support of around 11 thousand pesos (110 US dollars) that was given to repatriated Venezuelans would also be given to Colombians and Ecuadorians who were returned to their countries of origin and joined social programs such as Youth Building the Future, he reported. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

AMLO indicated that the Government of México had already signed agreements with its counterparts in Colombia and Ecuador, for the same amount given to Venezuelans.

“Yes, this support will be provided. I don’t know exactly the amount, but it will be the same (as Venezuela) and we are willing to support, because it helps us not have so much migratory flow, we have to do it and progress is being made,” he noted.

“Colombia has already signed, Ecuador has already signed, we are seeing when [iniciaría] but it is an agreement. We are talking to Bimbo and Femsa, we already have relationships with these companies, especially for the Youth Building the Future program and what we want to do is something similar,” he added.

On March 21, 2024, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), announced that in agreement with the Government headed by Nicolás Maduro Moros, México would deliver close to 11 thousand pesos to each of the migrants who were repatriated to Venezuela.

The chancellor confirmed that the support, charged to Mexican public finances, would be provided for half a year, at a rate of 1,800 pesos per month, to repatriated Venezuelan migrants.

”We have just signed an agreement with Venezuela, with President Nicolás Maduro, which is called ‘Return to the Homeland’. We are sending Venezuelans back to their country, because we really cannot handle those quantities, but the president [López Obrador] “We have been instructed that each migrant that we return to Venezuela has support like that provided here by Youth Building the Future and Sowing Life,” explained the head of the SRE, who also explained that the money would be deposited to the Venezuelans. in the flames Wellbeing Cards.

”So we already have an amount that we give them, we are already giving to the migrants who return to Venezuela, we give them, it is actually a card, so that they can join a program that, let’s say, is not exactly Youth Building the Future, but It is a well-being program,” emphasized Bárcena Ibarra.

“And what we are making are pacts with companies, we already have an agreement with Polar, which is a Venezuelan company, with PDVSA, with Mexican companies, Bimbo, Femsa, which are acting in Venezuela so that they receive them, give them employment, “We give them six months of a great time, it’s more or less $110 a month, which is wonderful for them,” the chancellor added.

”And then there is an encouragement for them to return. We have already managed to repatriate a very significant number of Venezuelans and we are doing it every week with the support of [la Secretaría de] Government, this is very important because we are acting together with the Government and we do the same when returning to Guatemala, Honduras, now we are making an agreement with Colombia, because it is another nationality that has increased a lot, and with Ecuador, to be able to return them to their countries with these programs,” he expressed.

”So the program to address the causes, as you have mentioned, in their countries of origin, this is a project to support returnees to return and not migrate again, to stay there, so that we can help them,” he concluded. .

The agreement was signed on March 1, 2024, within the framework of the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the first flight of repatriates departed from Felipe Ángeles International Airport on the 16th with 80 passengers.
