Sinaloa Mexico.- Minutes before his disappearance, the candidate of the Sinaloense Party (PAS), Luis Alonso García Corrales, and his friend, Juan Francisco Cerón Beltrán, were intercepted last Saturday by police from Sinaloa who then let them continue traveling in Culiacán, according to security camera videos presented by the party.
Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda, moral leader of the PAS, assured that the evidence was obtained after talks with citizens and merchants in the area, who facilitated the records of what happened yesterday on Calzada Las Torres, almost at its intersection with Avenida Álvaro Obregón .
Cuén Ojeda, after demanding the appearance alive of the candidate for councilor and his companion, accused that the disappearance has political overtones in an entity where they are electorally united with the PRI, PAN and PRD, after abandoning their coalition with Morena.
“We firmly hope that they are alive, and we know that this is a purely political matter, Luis García is an honest, hard-working person, a good family man (…), the evidence that we gave where they were intercepted by the Police, It is very evident what is happening, Mr. Governor, it is evident authorities of the Judicial Branch in our State, it is evident, I reiterate, that it is a political matter,” he stated.
In a press conference, the candidate for federal deputy added that while the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) denied any arrest involved in the case, the video shows that at 7:54 a.m. the candidate did interact with the local elements, and then they let him continue on his way in a white car.
“With all this evidence it is easy to ask questions, find the patrol, find the elements, carry out an investigation, however it is not done because it is a custom and practice in Sinaloa That is, we are not going to sit with our arms crossed,” he added after warning of a citizen mobilization this Sunday.
“There has been nothing, after the Governor spoke to me, the person in charge of the Government Secretariat spoke to me, he spoke to me to ask me Luis’ name and ask me for his telephone number, nobody knows anything.”
Yesterday, it was the Morenoist Governor Rubén Rocha Moya who warned on social networks about the report of disappearance of García Corrales, in charge of the party’s campaign logistics in the entity.
“I inform you that a few minutes ago, teacher Héctor Cuén (@melesiocuen) called me by phone to find out that since this morning, Saturday, April 13, Luis Alonso García Corrales, unable to be located anywhere, candidate for councilor of Culiacán for the Sinaloense Party (@pas_mx), who was accompanied by Juan Francisco Cerón Beltrán,” posted the state President.
Rocha Moya urged the support of federal and state authorities to locate the politician and his companion.
