Mazatlán.- The candidate for President of México for the Citizen Movement, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, was in Mazatlán at a meeting with young people from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa who asked him about the future of the country.
The “young candidate” as the students call him, listened to each one of them, in a dynamic that he maintains throughout the country in which the students ask questions and he answers, whatever it may be.

The dynamics at the UAS were divided into four rounds of questions, each student had an approach, from the justice system, security, job opportunities in the health sector, gentrification and improving salaries.

From “how can we see the issue of gentrification in México and that foreigners do not take over our spaces?”, “what would be the solution to the problem that we young people face when leaving school and entering the workplace? ”, among other questions.
The Citizen Movement candidate pointed out that that is why he goes from university to university, talking with young people, to know their needs, concerns and doubts, since it is the young people who are forgotten by the current government.
Why does Máynez go to universities?
“We had become accustomed in this country to campaigns being an exercise in opulence, squandering, waste, in which the people who spend the most money are the ones who win the elections.”
“Going to universities is having a direct, frontal dialogue and there is a back and forth in these needs with social results.”

Among this dynamic of questions and answers that took place at the UAS Theater, Álvarez Máynez spoke about a ‘hack’ of gentrification, how?
With the implementation of taxes on each property acquired from a foreign person and that these taxes can be administered for the city in public services, health issues, educational issues and more.
The young people questioned him a lot about the issue of housing and the job offer, to this the Citizen Movement candidate responded that it was necessary to open up to young people better opportunities for credit for a home, in regulating the purchase and sale of land with high prices , causing young people to not be able to access it.
“Prosperity is that people also have the right to decent housing, it is not fair that you, how much do you think they give you credit for a house?… pay a loan in 30 years, we need a social housing program, which has to to do with a financing problem,” he said.

The not so young also asked about fishing, a sector that they say is forgotten and that only large companies are supported, but coastal and minor fishermen cannot get ahead with minimal economic support, without few opportunities to grow.
“We are screwed because there is no justice in the country’s fishing, we are 17 coastal states… we need to revive fishing, to support us to be better, a school of fishermen… each person who goes out fishing has their permit expire and not can work,” said a citizen.

Álvarez Máynez committed himself, in front of the young people, to the primary sector, because he says, the entire sector brings widespread abandonment and he said to work for them.
Between applause, shouts and cheers, the candidate said goodbye to the young people, but not before taking a selfie with whoever was approaching; they even threw a “simi” onto the stage.
