Carla Humphrey, commission president Temporary Debates of the INE asked the three presidential candidates to privilege in the third and final debate the proposals on disqualifications after disqualifications were issued in the second match as “narco-candidate” and “corrupt” that the electoral referee himself ordered to delete.
In a press conference from UNAM Tlatelolco Cultural Center host the third in-person debate, Councilor Humphrey called on Jorge Álvarez Máynez presidential candidate of the Citizen Movement; Claudia Sheinbaum, from the Let’s Keep Making History coalition; and Xochitl Galvez from the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition, to present proposals to citizens on how they are going to solve the country’s problems.
“We call to have a debate of proposals, a debate of ideas, to compare national projects precisely so that citizens can have this knowledge of what the offers are, what the projects, platforms, etc., what each candidacy offers. I think that is what interests citizens: being able to cast an informed vote, being able to know first-hand, having the three candidates contrasting ideas,” he said.
The counselor indicated that in the last debate there will be a block called “face to face”, where the candidates will ask each other questions. Each flag bearer sent 15 questions, of which the three moderators (Luisa Cantú who will represent the northern region of the country; Javier Solórzano who will represent the center; and Elena Arcila who will represent the south) will choose some to ask.
