Mazatlán.- The Venados Basketball squad failed to achieve its goal of winning a victory in México City, falling 92-91 against Ángeles de la Ciudad de México in the second game of the first round of playoffs of the Chevron Cibacopa 2024 League .

The game was played with great intensity in the Juan de la Barrera gym, in the presence of more than 2,500 people who enjoyed the emotions from their seats.

Mazatlán will have to stick to its history and the support of its people to show pride at home and seek the three victories necessary to stay fully in the fight, since they will have to return to play for a place in the semifinals.

The sets ended 24-17, 22-22, 22-24 and 24-28, in favor of the locals.

Johnny Hughes Lii was the spark plug for the Angelenos, finishing with 26 points, four assists and four rebounds. Stephan Braunch supported him with 14 points, six rebounds and two assists.

For Venados, Kenny Dawkins recorded 21 points, six rebounds and four assists. Jeff Ledbetter (19) and Ruan Marqués (17) supported the Mazatlán offensive.
