Mazatlán.- The city of Mazatlán has 424 public transportation units operated by the Mazatlán Truckers Alliance, of which 50 percent already have air conditioning, said Efrén Landell Osuna, president of the Mazatlán Truckers Alliance.

Landell Osuna highlighted that more than half of the units in the port have air conditioning, providing better service to passengers.

“More than 50 percent of the units are already ready with air conditioning and all are in optimal condition. Although we have 505 units, 424 are currently operating, he said.

The leader explained that some units are not in circulation due to necessary maintenance, such as body work, laminating or painting, and the air conditioning maintenance process takes the longest.

He explained that the Mazatlán Truck Alliance is ready to comply with the instructions of Municipal and State Civil Protection in the face of the hurricane season.

«In terms of movements, if needed, the trucks are always ready to move personnel or people in the event of an accident or something. We are at the command of what Civil Protection tells us and we are going to work on what they tell us,” he stressed.

Drivers are trained

Every Sunday, Truck Alliance operators in Mazatlán receive training to improve their performance and treatment of users. These courses, which began about three weeks ago, are mandatory for the more than 500 operators in the alliance.

The courses, taught by ICATSIN staff, are organized in groups of 30 to 35 people.

«They are talks about personal improvement, coexistence and treatment of the user. It is in these sessions that positive attitudes of the operators are reflected, such as those who have shown gestures of kindness towards people with various abilities, even giving away candy,” explained Landell Osuna.
