Mazatlán.- The Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Sinaloa river mouths to allow the free passage of shrimp larvae and other commercial marine species between the sea and rivers.

The official pointed out that these actions seek the constant rehabilitation of the Huizache-Caimanero Lagoon System and in this way mitigate the effects of silting that prevent the entry of shrimp larvae and other commercial marine species.

“This is a social program with benefits for all the fishermen of Huizache-Caimanero, these are noble actions by the government that indicate that of course we believe in the fishing sector, that we are interested in fishing.

“And the thing is, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and his servant are interested in ensuring that the fishermen’s families are well… I know that as long as he is in charge of the state, these types of actions are not going to pause, on the contrary, they are going to continue. increasing,” he said.

Guerra Mena highlighted that the result of these actions will translate into a sustained increase in the production of fishing resources.

If the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture clears the mouths of the rivers and the Huizache Caimanera Lagoon System, he said, sources of employment will be generated that will benefit the six federations and 45 cooperatives, as well as 3,500 members of the themselves based in the south of Sinaloa.

He added that, in June 2023, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture managed to give him support for the acquisition of an excavator machine for the amount of one million pesos.

The objective is to guarantee constant maintenance at the mouths of the Baluarte and Presidio rivers, as well as in the Huizache-Caimanero Lagoon System.

The Mayor of El Rosario, Jesús Eloy Manjarrez Mancillas, attended the launch of the clearing program; the Fisheries coordinator of Mazatlán, Ramón Ruiz Moreno, the director of Fisheries Infrastructure of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

In addition to José Alfonso Hidalgo Balderas, the director of Fisheries of ISAPESCA, Jorge Alberto Ruiz García and the director of Aquaculture of ISAPESCA, Jonathan Meza Rogel.
