Mazatlán.- Within the framework of the fourth anniversary of its foundation, Mazatlán FC began the second stage of its preseason towards Apertura 2024 with a friendly match against Atlético de San Luis. The match, played in Querétaro, ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Gustavo del Prete for the Purples and Sébastien Salles-Lamonge for the Potosinos.

The match was played in three halves of 35 minutes each, thus allowing the coaching staff, headed by Víctor Manuel Vucetich, to evaluate the performance of most of the players who made the trip. This unusual format offered a unique opportunity to closely observe footballers in different game situations.

One of the highlights of the match was the return to the courts of Nicolás Benedetti and Lucas Merolla, who played 30 minutes after almost eight months of recovery from injury.

This return was an emotional and significant moment for both the players and the team, demonstrating their progress and determination.

The Pearl of the Pacific team will continue its training intensively, scheduling double shift sessions from Sunday to Tuesday. These training sessions seek to refine details and strengthen the cohesion of the group before their next confrontation. On Wednesday, June 12, Mazatlán FC will face the Bravos de Juárez in another friendly match.
