Mazatlán.- It will not be privatized nor will there be a charge for climbing and carrying out the same activities as always in Cerro del Crestón, reported the director of the Administration of the National Port System in Mazatlán, Mariel Aquileo Ancona Infazón.
This after it was announced on social networks that the Board of Trustees of the Faro Natural Park was distancing itself from its activities as of this Tuesday, June 18. Now Asipona will be responsible for everything.
“The lighthouse will remain public. They will be able to enter without paying a cent, as they always have. The only thing new will be the zip line; “Whoever wants to use it can do so, but it is not mandatory, and the glass bridge that we are going to put in order.”

He noted that, once they finish the study to review the viewpoint or glass bridge, they will restore what is necessary and it will be opened to the public in the coming weeks or a couple of months, depending on the state it is in, with the same rate of 30 pesos.
Currently, he added, they already have enough personnel to begin maintenance on the hill, check the condition of the bathrooms, and have paramedics along the road to the lighthouse, among other details. Later, they will implement a permanent reforestation program.
“Let it come out of there so we can put more into the lighthouse, we are going to do something, I assure you, give us the privilege of doubt, it will be 20 times better… There are already people working there so that we can continue giving tourists what himself,” he said.
The hill is still open to the public, he clarified, and people who visit it will be able to carry out their sports and recreational activities as they have done in recent years since it gained popularity.
The rear admiral added that in approximately a month, the population will be able to see significant changes in the work and plans that Asipona will carry out in favor of the hill.

And the zip line? Asipona answers questions
Ancona Infazón clarified that the construction concession for the zip line is for an individual; However, it is an area of approximately 60 square meters and will have certain conditions, such as economic contributions and maintenance and conservation of flora and fauna.
“They have to pay us 5% of their gross income, which if compared to their net income, is almost 10%. They have to pay that to Asipona. The concession is for 20 years. They must maintain all their space and a little more,” he commented.
The concessionaire will be empowered to build, operate and exploit marine terminals, nautical, fishing, tourist, sports, recreational, aquaculture, commercial and industrial port works and facilities in the concession areas.
He argued that the company has all the permits and requirements to carry out the project and denied that the concession can be extended to the entire hill, not even in 100 years.
