Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Aquatic Rescue Squad, attached to the Municipal Public Security Secretariat, carried out a series of rescue operations during the afternoon of Friday, managing to save 10 bathers who were being pulled by the strong waves. Those rescued only suffered fatigue and nervous breakdowns, without needing to be transferred to a hospital.

Gustavo Espinoza Bastidas, Coordinator of the Lifeguard Group, reported that six emergency reports were attended to, activating the necessary care and rescue protocols. In Playa Cerritos, three people were rescued; in Sábalo Uno, three more; and in Pueblo Bonito, four tourists. All bathers were medically evaluated on the shore and were reported out of danger.

In addition to these rescues, the rescuers attended other incidents. On the beaches in front of the Universidad de Occidente (UdeO), they helped a woman from Nuevo Laredo with a knee injury. On Chivos Island, a visitor from Nogales suffered convulsions and received immediate attention.

During the surveillance tours, five people were arrested for causing disturbances, who were placed at the disposal of the civic judge to determine their legal situation.
