MAZATLÁN.- In Mazatlán, there has been a notable increase in applications to acquire a driver’s license. Approximately 30 to 40 people go to the offices every day to obtain their first license, with the driver’s license being the most requested, according to Roberto Jaime Rodríguez, head of Traffic Education in Mazatlán.
Secondly, the motorcycle license has seen a 40 percent increase in applications. This license costs 526 pesos for two years and 1,058 pesos for four years. In third place are the licenses for drivers.
“The demand for motorcycle licenses has increased significantly. Looking at the statistics, motorcyclists are among the most frequent applicants in the city,” said Rodríguez.
Rodriguez said the increase in applications for motorcycle licenses is due to factors such as economic considerations, fuel savings and the preference for motorcycles due to the ease of parking them compared to cars.
He also noted that demand for licenses tends to rise during discount promotions, on vacations or when people receive extra income such as bonuses or additional checks.
