Netanyahu Urges Israel to Join Forces in Fight Against Iran After Yemen Attack

In a recent speech, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the international community to support Israel’s fight against Iran and its ramifications in various regions, including Yemen, Gaza and Lebanon. These remarks came after an Israeli airstrike on the Yemeni port of Hodeida, where Houthi rebel positions were located.

Context of the Conflict

The attack in Hodeida was carried out in response to a Houthi drone that struck Tel Aviv, resulting in the death of one Israeli citizen. Netanyahu stressed that the Houthis are not just an isolated group, but are an integral part of what he calls Iran’s “axis of evil,” a term he has frequently used to describe the destructive influence he says Iran has in the region. This axis represents a significant threat to peace in the Middle East and, by extension, to world peace.

The Call to the International Community

In his remarks, Netanyahu urged countries around the world to unite in the fight against Iranian aggression. He mentioned that the Houthis have carried out numerous attacks not only against Israel, but also against maritime trade in the Red Sea, which aggravates the security situation in the region. The prime minister stressed that any effort to achieve a more stable Middle East must include determined opposition to the Iranian regime.

The Consequences of Escalation

Netanyahu also highlighted that over the past eight months, the Houthis have launched hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel, which has escalated tension in the area. The attack in Hodeida is considered the most significant action by the Houthis against Israel since they began besieging ships linked to the country. This escalation in violence poses serious challenges not only for Israel, but for the entire region, as the repercussions of these clashes may extend beyond the borders of those involved.
