The owner of the Undersecretariat for Human Rights of the General Secretariat of the state government of Sinaloa, Patricia Figueroa Sauceda announced that starting in August the Temporary Shelter and Human Identification Center. This amid a spike in missing persons.
He said that work has been underway for several months on this centre, which is “an unprecedented project” for the state government. The Temporary Shelter and Human Identification Center will be in Mazatlán, Culiacan and Los Mochis.
“We are in a humanitarian crisis that is being addressed by instructions from the governor. and due to the ongoing review by Secretary General of Government Enrique Inzunza, so at this time I can assure you that for this third year we are finishing the three centers,” said Figueroa Sauceda.
According to the National Registry of Missing and Unlocated Persons, so far this year as of July 22, 242 people have disappeared in the entity which implies a 40 percent increase in cases compared to the same period in 2022 when 172 cases of missing and unlocated persons were recorded.
Of the people who have disappeared so far this year, 212 are men and 30 are women. The municipalities where the most missing persons have been registered are Culiacan Mazatlán, Ahome, Navolato and Guasave.
He mentioned that soon The State Program for Exhumations, Temporary Safekeeping and Human Identification will be presented which he said is in stage zero.
“It involves close coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office Sinaloa with whom we have a collaboration agreement signed in May 2023, we must remember that this agreement is essential because we would be making a very important transition as coadjutors to address this crisis, specifically a crisis against humanity,” said the journalist.
He said that a new law is being established public policy on human identification He stressed that the State Exhumation Program will be completely transparent.
“Sinaloa It has been highlighted as the state that has had the greatest resources in the last three years from the Federation. This is not minor. Now, not only have resources been obtained, but 95.6 million have been obtained in three years. What does this imply? Sinaloa It is number one at the state level, which is a very important fact at the state level in terms of obtaining federal resources,” said Figueroa Sauceda.
For his part, the state governor, Rubén Rocha Moya, said that these actions are in response to the searching mothers.
