Joaquin Guzman Lopez son of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman (former leader of the Poster of Sinaloa), will have his first appearance next Tuesday, July 30, in the Federal Court of the Northern District of Illinois, in Chicago.
This was announced by the lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman to CNN, via an email in which he confirmed that he will accompany Guzmán López to the hearing scheduled for 11:00 am (local time).

According to the aforementioned media, Lichtman will represent ‘El Chapo’s’ son in the United States where he is accused of various charges related to drug trafficking, money laundering and possession of firearms.
Joaquin Guzman Lopez was arrested in Texas on July 25 next to Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada. Both are considered key players in the Cartel Sinaloa.

Ovidio Guzmán is the son of ‘El Chapo’ and the direct brother of Joaquín Guzmán López. As part of his strategy, on September 18 of last year he pleaded not guilty in the Chicago Court to the five charges against him, including drug trafficking and money laundering.
On July 23 of this year, ‘El Ratón’ left the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago (where Joaquín Guzmán was transferred) and his whereabouts are currently unknown, although it was confirmed that he is still in custody in the US.
