MAZATLÁN. – The sweep of cattle in the municipality of Rosario is about to begin with the objective of recovering the zoosanitary status and improving cattle prices, benefiting local producers, explained Servando Rendón López, president of the Cattle Association of the municipality.
He explained that tests will be carried out on the herds to rule out the presence of tuberculosis, providing greater security to buyers. These tests will have a symbolic cost of 25 pesos per head of cattle, intended for the doctors in charge, a cost significantly lower than the regular price of up to 120 pesos.
Rosario will be the last municipality to Sinaloa in receiving these inspections, which are key to recovering the zoosanitary status lost years ago.
“A meeting has already been held with the president of the livestock committee and we are ready to begin the sweep; we are awaiting the arrival of seven doctors.”

Before starting work, a meeting will be held with the farmers to inform them about the requirements, such as the identification of each animal with its respective tag and number.
Rendón López stressed the importance of recovering the animal health status, which will not only increase the price of cattle, but will also open the possibility of exporting meat to the United States, as is already happening in other states of the country.
