México CITY.- Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez reaffirmed his dominance in the super middleweight category by defeating Puerto Rican Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision, taking away his undefeated record at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
With this victory, the 34-year-old Mexican retains his World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Association (WBA) titles.
After passing the scale without problems, ‘Canelo’ and Berlanga made their entrance to the ring in front of 20,123 spectators. The Mexican was accompanied by the Fuerza Regida group, while Berlanga was booed by the majority of the Mexican fans.

From the start of the fight, ‘Canelo’ Alvarez took control, cornering Berlanga on the ropes. In the third round, the Mexican managed to knock down his rival, although the Puerto Rican recovered and gained ground as the fight progressed.
Despite not achieving the knockout, ‘Canelo’ Alvarez dominated every round and took the victory, extending his streak without a knockout to six consecutive fights. With this victory, he remains the undisputed “king” of the super middleweight division.
