MAZATLÁN.- The match between Mazatlán FC and Rayados de Monterrey ended without goals, in a match that was marked by the expulsion of Sebastián Vegas after 5 minutes, leaving Monterrey with one less player.
Despite having the numerical advantage, the Sinaloans were unable to capitalize on it.

Matchday 9 of the 2024 Apertura tournament was one to forget, with a Mazatlán team that continues to be unable to take advantage of its numerical superiority in its matches.
The first half was insipid, with both teams missing opportunities.
Monterrey goalkeeper Esteban Andrada made an outstanding save in the 12th minute after a shot by Lucas Merolla.
Mazatlán had clear chances, but failed to finish, including a deflected shot from David Colman just before the break.
In the second half, Monterrey opted for a defensive approach, and although Mazatlán insisted, their attempts were in vain.
The best chance came in the 93rd minute, when Merolla missed a shot that ended up in the hands of Andrada.
With this draw, Monterrey remains the temporary leader with 20 points, while Mazatlán is in 14th position with only 7 units.
