Sinaloa Pride! UAS students triumph in the National Physics Competition

-UAS students win gold medals and honorable mentions in the national competition of physics experiments and apparatus-

Culiacan, Sinaloa.- With an outstanding participation, 21 students from the high schools of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) managed to raise the name of their institution in the XXXIII National Contest of Physics Apparatus and Experiments, held in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The young people obtained two first places, three honorable mentions and an accreditation for the international contest Infomatrix 2025.

Pamela Herrera Ríos, administrative coordinator of the General Directorate of Preparatory Schools (DGEP), highlighted that this result is the fruit of the commitment and constant effort in the classrooms. “This triumph reflects the hard work of the students and their advisors, who strive every day to promote science and innovation at the UAS. It is a national recognition that opens the doors to international competitions,” she said.

Among the most outstanding achievements, the Lázaro Cárdenas High School in Mocorito, Cerro Agudo extension, and the Hermanos Flores Magón Academic Unit took home gold medals in the technological apparatus and experiment categories, respectively. In addition, three honorable mentions were awarded to the Guasave Daytime High School, the Doctor Salvador Allende High School, and the Hermanos Flores Magón Academic Unit. The Guasave Daytime High School was also accredited to participate in Infomatrix 2025.

Herrera Ríos stressed the importance of the role of the advisors, who dedicated their time without receiving extra compensation. “The advisors have shown great commitment to the UAS and its students, working tirelessly for weeks and months, even sacrificing weekends. Thanks to their efforts, our young people are achieving results that put the UAS on high.” Sinaloa at the national level,” he concluded.

This achievement reinforces the UAS’s commitment to scientific education and the promotion of youth talent, demonstrating that effort and dedication can lead to great triumphs in national competitions.
