MAZATLÁN.- The Mazatlán FC Femenil institution is going through a critical moment in its short history. The recent defeat, last Sunday, on matchday 11 of the 2024 Apertura Tournament, against Atlas by 2-0, became the 101st in the Liga MX Femenil.
Since its debut in the Apertura 2020, the team has accumulated a total of 101 losses in 147 matches, highlighting the difficulties it has faced throughout its career in Mexican women’s soccer.
In these four years, the club has experienced multiple coaching changes and roster changes, but is still struggling to establish itself as a solid competitor in the league.
Their best performance was recorded in the 2020 Apertura under the direction of Miguel Hernández, when the team managed to add 21 points. However, since then, qualification for the playoffs has proven unattainable.
In each tournament, the Cañoneras have failed to get above 20 points, reflecting a lack of consistency and competitiveness. Currently, Mazatlán Femenil is in 16th place in the general table, with just six points. This position puts them just above Santos and Necaxa, who have four points each.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that the team has suffered nine defeats and only two wins this season.

With six games left to play, the goal is to reach the playoffs, but each day that passes seems further away, and the upcoming schedule will not be easy for the purple team, as they will face strong teams such as Rayadas, Pumas, Xolas.
