MAZATLÁN._ Authorities from the Mexican Navy Secretariat led the reopening of the Mazatlán Naval Specialties Hospital, a private event, attended by Mayor Édgar González Zataráin, in the company of the president of Sistema DIF Mazatlán, María Teresa Apodaca de Gonzalez.
During the expansion, remodeling and equipping event of the Mazatlán Naval Specialty Hospital, Sandra Luz Lagunas de Ojeda Durán, president of the Navy Promoters, as well as Javier Abarca García, commander of the Eighth Naval Region, were present.
It was reported that the development of the project carried out in five stages exceeded 120 million pesos, since it will provide quality care to 25 thousand beneficiaries.
In her message, Perla De la Herrán Millán, director of the hospital, expressed that the remodeling was carried out in five phases, the first of which was the construction of a rehabilitation area, while the second included the construction of the external consultation area in the back of the hospital to four floors.
He indicated that in the third phase, general services and maintenance were remodeled, while the fourth phase covered the expansion and remodeling of the hospitalization area itself, emergencies and hemodialysis.
De la Herrán Millán recalled that at its creation, the Mazatlán Naval Specialties Hospital was located in the Mazatlán Nautical School, until the demand for care exceeded it and it was necessary to expand the hospital.
“Until, derived from the exponential increase in the population pyramid, in the 80’s, the construction of the Naval Hospital that summons us today is planned,” he highlighted.
The Naval Specialty Hospital of Mazatlán is located in the Colonia Adolfo López Mateos, behind the New Social Security.
