Mazatlán.- Mexican baseball player Ramiro Peña reported to the Venados de Mazatlán last Friday and immediately began training at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium.
At 39 years old, his mission for this season is clear: take the team to the top of the Mexican Pacific League (LMP), whose campaign begins on October 13.
After a difficult year, in which he lost two consecutive finals, Peña does not lose heart. His goal is to take advantage of this new opportunity to vindicate himself and achieve the long-awaited tenth crown, a dream he shares with the Venados fans.
«It has been a year of ups and downs; we reached the final and we lost it, we reached the Serie del Rey and we also lost it. Although I am not complaining, I am not satisfied, there is still that thorn, but we are going with everything this time,” he commented.
Peña, a pillar in the Mazatlán organization, highlighted the balance between experience and youth in the team, which reinforces his optimism for the season.
Despite recent challenges, the infielder is determined to show his best version in the red uniform.
Alex Tovalin joins Venados
Reliever Alex Tovalin has also joined training, preparing for the next LMP season.
With an outstanding performance in the previous campaign and an ERA of 2.36, Tovalin expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Mazatlán and fighting for the long-awaited championship.
The training continues with a preparation game against the selection of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium.
