México City.- The Culiacán-Mazatlán highway, near the town of Potrerillos del Norote, in the Municipality of Elota, was blocked with burned trailers, where three bodies were also found.
“Elements of the National Guard Roads division, in coordination with the police forces, are working to remove some units that block traffic on the Mazatlán-Culiacán highway, near Elota, in both directions,” reported the Ministry of Security. Public.
Likewise, it was indicated that, during the work carried out by the authorities, in the vicinity of the blockade, three dead men were located. “It is estimated that it is the result of clashes between groups of armed civilians during the night in the area. Also report that one lane of the Maxipista from north to south was freed so there is already traffic,” authorities added.
The Municipality of Elota is one of the most affected by the confrontation between two criminal groups of the Cartel de Sinaloa which officially began on September 9.
Until last night, there were 118 murders and 135 disappearances. The blockades occurred after six bodies were abandoned in a van-type truck south of the city of Culiacán, with a message on one side reading “Welcome to Culiacán.” These violent acts occurred after the last visit of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to the Municipality of Rosario, south of Sinaloa.
