BEIRUT.- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out an airstrike this Friday against the Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut, leaving at least six dead and 91 wounded, according to Lebanese authorities.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah would have been the target of the attack, but it has not yet been confirmed whether he was at the scene, a US official told CBS.
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari assured that the attack was “very precise” and that they continue to verify the results.
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, called Nasrallah a “terrorist” but did not confirm whether he was present at the destroyed buildings.
On the other hand, Hezbollah sources have declared to various media that Nasrallah is safe, although no official statement has been issued.
