Mazatlán.- The Mazatlán-Durango superhighway has opened a new strategic connection to the port of Mazatlán, becoming one of the favorite routes for tourists from northern México.

One of its main attractions is the El Sinaloense tunnel, the longest of the 41 tunnels on the road and the second longest in the country, with 2,789 meters in length. Located on the Sinaloa part of the highway, this tunnel has been a focus of attention for those traveling along the route inaugurated on October 17, 2013.

The highway, which covers 230 kilometers, includes 27 bridges, five interchanges and two technological control centers. The El Sinaloense tunnel is located 84 kilometers from Mazatlán, which is equivalent to just over an hour’s drive by car.

The toll for using this road is 741 pesos for cars and 370 pesos for motorcycles.

In addition to being an important communication route, the road itself has become a tourist destination, attracting travelers interested in its tunnels and impressive landscapes.

According to Caminos y Puentes Federales, the highway has four toll plazas and 60 tunnels in total, 30 of which are concentrated between kilometers 115 and 165. Eight of these tunnels are considered “smart,” since they are equipped with advanced technology. to improve user security.

The investment in this project reached 259.95 million pesos, aimed at optimizing the experience of travelers and guaranteeing their safety.
