Cabildo approves proposed Culiacán Income Law for 2025; That’s million more than 2024

CULIACÁN._ The Culiacán Council unanimously approved the proposed Municipal Income Law for next 2025, which contemplates an increase of 22 million pesos compared to 2024.

When reading the opinion of the Finance Commission, the total amount that will make up the resources allocated to the municipality for the next fiscal year was not detailed.

However, the Treasurer of the Culiacán City Council, Laura Araceli Nieblas shared that the increase is 1.4 percent more than in 2024, a preventive amount derived from the current situation of violence that has affected the economy and for which it is not possible to project a significant growth.

“Cautious, preventive regarding the situation we are experiencing, we cannot foresee growth as such, to take care of all those citizens who have also had an impact on the economic issue and we are growing very cautiously. (The increase) is 22 million, 1.4 (percent more than last year),” he shared.

He indicated that the proposal contemplates that the City Council exercise 40 percent of the total income, both its own and federal.

This procedure defines how the municipal government would collect the resources essential for the functioning of the administrative apparatus.

The proposal will be sent to the Congress of Sinaloa to be modified and subsequently approved in plenary session, who has until the end of the year to complete this process.
