Mazatlán. – The preferential lane has improved public transportation circulation and reduced accidents by 50 percent, public transportation leaders reported.
Juan Zataráin Velarde, president of the Pacific Eagle Alliance, highlighted that, since the implementation of the preferential lane, the results are positive, even though it began only in a first phase.
“It is an important need. Mazatlán is in chaos on the roads and it gave results… it provided security to our users, it provided speed and a low accident rate.”

The president of the Mazatlán Urban Truck Alliance, Efrén Landell Osuna, said that Governor Rubén Rocha Moya committed to supporting the second stage of the preferential lane, which is already defined and ready to be executed.
“The second stage that we have proposed with the governor was from Insurance to Fovissste. If you travel through it, it takes too long, because we travel with trucks and private vehicles,” he commented.
Landell Osuna proposes that, if large vehicles are confined to the right, they will not be able to get out. If they leave, they will be subject to a penalty, leaving free passage to motorists and reducing travel time.
The first phase faced delays due to injunctions filed by merchants on the Benemérito de las Américas section, but these conflicts have been resolved.
As for the third phase, it is projected on Juan Carrasco Avenue, from Gutiérrez Nájera to Zaragoza, covering one and a half kilometers.
