Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS), through the Faculty of Accounting and Administration (FCA), delivered 3.1 tons of beans, rice and oil to the Culiacán Food Bank IAP as part of the solidarity campaign “Hungry” 2024. This donation will benefit more than 12 thousand people of vulnerable communities in the Central-South zone of Sinaloa.
A university effort with social impact
During the delivery event, Dr. Armida Llamas Estrada, General Secretary of the UAS, highlighted the commitment and generosity of the students, teachers and administrative staff who participated in the collection.
“This action reflects the human quality of our university towards the Sinaloa society. We thank everyone involved for contributing more than three tons of food to benefit those who need it most,” said Llamas Estrada.
A constant commitment to Sinaloan society
Dr. Víctor Manuel Mizquiz Reyes, director of the FCA, stressed that the UAS maintains a firm social commitment by joining these initiatives every year.
“The Autonomous University of Sinaloa honors the commitment that Sinaloan society has given him, always supporting those who need it most,” said Mizquiz Reyes.

For her part, Fernanda Angulo, coordinator of Strategic Alliances at the Culiacán Food Bank, thanked the UAS for its support and valued the importance of this donation for the communities most affected by food shortages.
“This donation will benefit more than 12 thousand people in the Central-South of Sinaloa. We appreciate the generosity of the UAS and the FCA, who not only provide food, but also values of solidarity and social commitment,” Angulo highlighted.
