Federal and state security forces secured 4,700 liters of liquid methamphetamine and 269 kilos of solid methamphetamine in three homes, in a joint operation in the state of Sinaloa northwest México, to register the greatest confiscation of this substance so far from the government of President Claudia Sheinbaum, which began on October 1, 2024.
Agents of the National Defense Secretariats (Sedena), Marina (Semar), Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), National guard (GN) and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), in coordination with the Attorney General of the State of Sinaloa (FGE) and the Ministry of Public Security of the State of Sinaloa participated in the operation carried out in the town of Ayuba, in the municipality of Culiacán, cradle of the cartel of Sinaloa and demarcation hit by violence.
The agents identified three properties used for the manufacture and distribution of synthetic drugs.
The security forces entered simultaneously to the properties, where they located the 4,700 liters of liquid methamphetamine and the 269 kilos of the drug in solid state.
The authorities sealed the three properties and put the illegal substances available to the Public Ministry for its protection and subsequent analysis.
In a statement, the SSPC indicated that the confiscation avoided the distribution of 4.9 tons of methamphetamine, which, according to official calculations, It is equivalent to 4.9 million doses and an economic affectation of 1,462 million pesos (about 71 million dollars) for criminal organizations.
“This insurance is the largest registered in the current administration. With these actions, the institutions of the security cabinet endorse their commitment to work in a coordinated manner to build peace in the state of Sinaloa” SSPC sources said.
The operation is part of the National Security Strategy promoted by the Mexican Government to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in the country and especially in the state of Sinaloabeing one of the entities with the greatest presence of criminal groups dedicated to the production and export of synthetic narcotics to the United States and other regions.
Since the beginning of the six -year period, the authorities have increased synthetic drug insurance in the country, with special attention in clandestine laboratories located in northwest states.
