México CITY.- Daniel Noboa was reelected president of Ecuador with 55.83 % of the votes, compared to 44.17 % obtained by the corporate candidate Luisa González, when 96.04 % of the minutes have already been scrutinized, according to the National Electoral Council (CNE).
With an advantage close to the million votes, the National Democratic Action candidate (DNA) consolidates his mandate since his residence in the Olón commune, while González follows the results from Quito.
More than 13.7 million Ecuadorians were summoned to the polls, with an 83.7 %participation.
Noboa announced during his campaign that, to win, he would propose a Constituent Assembly to replace the 2008 Constitution, in order to strengthen the fight against organized crime and advance in economic reforms.

The elections were carried out under strict security measures, with about 100,000 elements between police and military deployed in electoral enclosures.
Ecuador remains under an “internal armed conflict” decreed by Noboa himself in early 2024 to combat the growing violence, which has led the country to register the largest homicide index in Latin America, with an average of an hourly murder in this start of 2025.
