Streets, sidewalks and the requested blue route continue to be due to the circuit of the cruise ship’s route through the heart of the Historic Center of Mazatlán, said Antonio Acuña Millán, head of the group “Tourist Aide Volunteers Blue Shirt ”.

This group is made up of a little more than 50 foreigners and Mazatlecos, who are the ones who welcome and face the passengers of the great cruises that go down to tour the city through the area of the Historic Center.

“We only ask that they fix the sidewalks, that they put signs because many people come in wheelchairs and there is not even that to guide them.

He added that there are ramps like the Achilles Serdán corner with blue beach, there is a ramp that follows and instead of going down, the sidewalk ends, and therefore several people in wheelchairs have crashed.

Regarding the issue of security, he admitted that passengers do ask them how the city is to walk without problems, and they only answer that they can do it calmly, but that they do not leave the circuit.

“We definitely tell them to get to know the city first and to walk with confidence because nobody is going to bother them and that is why we are asking that the conditions of the streets and sidewalks be in good condition ”.

He commented that this group only seek to reactivate the city economically in the face of the difficult situation that arises from bad perception abroad and for this reason they have insisted that a blue line be painted, where the yellow line is so that the circuit leads more safely to the cruisemen.

In this group, there are volunteers of Venezuelan origin, Canadians, from the United States and Mazatlecos, who for 14 years have worked to show and show off the city, but regretted that it has been very tired to have to knock on doors in the municipality and the Ministry of tourism, without obtaining the necessary support.

He recalled that when they first started with this group “Tourist Aide Volunteers Blue Shirt ”, even awards were given to them for the work they do supporting and guiding cruise passengers, however, they are now battling, so much so that no maps of the city has been able to provide them with t-shirts.

“We have searched anxiously with the current Secretary of State Tourism and nothing has happened. We have been donated T-shirts three years ago by the Aquarium and more earlier with the previous state government ”, he said.

This Friday, the members of the Governing Council of the Historic Center Mazatlán donated 70 blue T-shirts to this group that has freely guided and interceded for the cruise passengers who decide to walk around the city.
