Meet Tlali, Mazatleca who sang with Natalia Lafourcade in her new album

Mazatlán. – It has always been said that Mazatlán is the cradle of talent, especially of the Mexican regional, but without a doubt, when some stands out, he feels a shared triumph, as well as with Tlali Martínez.

Tlali is born in Mazatlán, grew between the streets and walkers of Infonavit Jabalíes. Of influence between folklore and music, Tlali followed that path until he managed to sing with Natalia Lafourcade on his last album.

“Last year I received an invitation to open a concert in Veracruz, they told me that I wore me because they invited many important people, they did not tell me who, but one of them was Natalia … later invited me to record,” he said.

From the age of 16, Tlali was introduced to the Jarocho, a genre originally from Veracruz that combines music, dance and song at a party called Fandango. It is a living cultural expression that has evolved over time, mixing elements of Spanish, indigenous and African music.

“I got the invitation, from her personally, to record choirs and with instruments on her album, I did not think about it, I said yes and the process began. It was recorded last year, it was intense, with a few days of recording, in a shot, we were all together and I felt with emotion and a lot of commitment to do it well,” he said.

He left everything, remembering that Tlali in his childhood has been able to fulfill each of his dreams and even even surpassed those he had ever had. That influence and attention of her parents placed her where she is, with the fixed mind of what she wants and with the name of Mazatlán at the top.

She says that it is still the same, with the same concern, with the same passion for music, to learn, but with the hardly strong constancy, especially because she already found that her dedication already paid off.

Currently, Tlali is recording his own songs, also composes, even visit Mazatlán to record an EP, a four -song album to be able to launch something and that people listen to it.
