Rosarense child with burns will be transferred to the US

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Thanks to the direct intervention of Dr. Manuel Antonio Pineda Domínguez, the minor José Luis, originally from the Chilillos community, will be transferred to the United States to receive specialized medical care, after suffering serious burns in 40% of his body.

The boy, just 10 years old, suffered first and second degree burns after an accident occurred while his father cleaned the motor of a motorcycle. A spark caused the explosion of gasoline, mainly affecting its face, arms and legs. From the first moment, Dr. Pineda attended him and ordered his immediate transfer to the General Hospital of Mazatlán, where he remains hospitalized.

After mobilizing with the Shriners Foundation and having the support of Jorge León, in charge of channeling these cases in Mazatlán, the acceptance of the minor was achieved to be treated in the United States under a humanitarian visa. Although the situation was complicated due to the separation of the parents and the fact that the mother is under chemotherapy treatment, it was already confirmed that a close relative will be the one who accompanies him in his transfer.

Dr. Pineda stressed that since he was municipal president of El Rosario he has collaborated with the Shriners Foundation, and highlighted the importance of continuing to save lives of children through these international medical support links.
