Mazatlán.– The 2025 hurricane season began in the Pacific on May 15, so the municipal government installed the Municipal Civil Protection Council to be prepared to face the possible effects of these meteorological phenomena.
The president of Mazatlán, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, led the installation session and took protest to the members of the Municipal Civil Protection Council.

She was accompanied by the director of the State Institute of Civil Protection, Roy Navarrete Cuevas, and her counterpart in Mazatlán, Óscar Roberto Osuna Tirado,
Palacios Domínguez stressed the importance of this Civil Protection Council of Mazatlán, as it will give timely monitoring to the climatological phenomena that form in the Pacific Ocean.
In the same way, it will implement appropriate preventive strategies for the population shelter, tasks that have been launched with the cleaning of storm channels, of which several tons of garbage have been removed.
Invite mayor to citizens to team
Estrella Palacios invited citizens to team up with the municipal government, supporting with cleaning in their colonies, but mainly, complying with the recommendations that at the time provide civil protection.
