The mother and stepfather of Paloma Nicole, the 14 -year -old teenager who died after cosmetic surgery in Durango, were linked to the process.

Paloma Jasmine “N” faces charges for usurpation of profession and omission of care. According to the State Prosecutor’s Office, she allegedly performed exclusive functions of health personnel without the corresponding accreditations.

While his partner and plastic surgeon, Victor “N”, faces positions for complicity, abandonment and improper practice of medical service.

Will remain in pretrial detention

The Durango Prosecutor’s Office reported that both will remain in preventive detention in Cereso 1. During the hearing a period of three months was determined to conclude with the investigation.

On the case, on September 24, the Mexican Association of Plastic, Aesthetics and Reconstructive Surgery (AMCPER) reported that the doctor who operated on Paloma Nicole, his stepfather, had been suspended so as not to hinder research on a possible bad praxis.

The Association said it consigned the facts before the Ethics Committee, which could impose sanctions depending on the results of the inquiries.

Carlos Arellano, the teenager’s father, denounced that her daughter was subjected to surgery to increase her bust without her consent, so she filed a complaint with the Durango prosecution and requested that forensic doctors perform a necropsy to know why the child died.
